"So we're heading to see Mrs L to help her tidy her garden? Wonder what that means" pondered Alex and I as we made our way over to the far edge of Fishponds. Ady had obviously been having the same thought as we both turned up with a pair of secateurs just in case.

We were greeted by Mrs L who explained that her husband was struggling whilst waiting for hip replacements and as a result the garden had got away from them and they would love it if they could start to take back control. She had tried to make a start by clearing some of the rocks, bits of patio and wood from the garden but it was proving very hard work and time consuming.

Despite the ghastly weather and Mrs L's concerns for us that maybe we should come back another time, we were keen to give it a go and soon started adding to the small pile of rubble that Mrs L had created, whilst filling a couple of bags with litter that we found along the way.

Before long we had cleared the surface of most of the rocks on show and some more hidden in the depths of the long grass. We were mindful however that there was a bit of a mound in the centre of the lawn that just didn't seem right.

It was at this point that we spied the pick-axe - YESSUS!!

Confirming with Mrs L that she was happy for us to look for more rocks to dig up we were soon hearing the sound of pick-axe on rock - not quite a CLANG, not quite a THUD so either a THANG or a CLUD maybe? Anyhow we were finding rocks at an alarming rate, bringing back memories for me of a 3 part mission in Easton many moons ago - one of those tasks that just keeps giving!

With one pick-axe between us we took it in turns to dig up the rocks whilst the other two scavenged between swings.

It was hard work, we got wet, we also got filthy but what great fun (!) all the while chatting about our plans for Christmas and running ambitions for 2019 and creating a rather impressive pile of rubble in the process - hurrah!

Needless to say Mrs L and her husband were chuffed with our efforts and possibly thought us a little bit mad that we had enjoyed ourselves so much but that's GoodGym missions for you - you never quite know how it's going to pan out but it's usually great!

Fantastic pun work from Ady too!
