Well what a beautiful evening to be back in the lovely garden of the Maritime Museum! The gang gathered at Charlton House and after a quick chat and discussion about what to do with our summers as the weather has been so delightful, we did some quick warm ups focussing on single leg activation, a great way to focus on that leg movement when you are out on a run.
We tried a new route this week to the collection center and tried to take it easy as the heat was still powerful at 7pm. With lots of little rests we made it, and only one wrong turn from me! We found the side gate and were welcomed with a cool garden and refreshing drink of water.
The group split into watering, weeders and the stone change crew. There was lots to water and the plant bed we worked on last time was looking very exciting as beans were growing rapidly in there. The weeders removed a large amount which will allow those walking past the garden a better view in, hopefully making more notice the garden! The final group got to work swapping out stones that the boat in the garden is resting on.
After half an hour the tasks were completed and we said our goodbyes and headed back, this time finding our way quickly back to Charlton House. We finished up with a lovely gentle stretch hitting some of the neglected parts of our bodies.
Great work as always, and lots to look forward to at the collections center, hopefully a community open day we will take part in, plus a tour after one of our next group runs there!
See you all again next week for more good deeding.
