Another beautiful evening in Gunnersbury park and it was an action-packed one. We all arrived as usual at the North Lodge to collect the tools and headed down to continue the great battle with the brambles. After deciding which tree was next to be freed from the brambles strangle-hold we started to get ready for the hacking and raking.
First thing first though JP and Luis had both brought along their homemade croquettas for us all to sample (individually wrapped). We had the choice of mushroom or chorizo filling, delicious! For dessert we took advantage of a few of the ripe blackberries before hacking away at the brambles.
After doing our best with particularly thick brambles on this tree we called it a day in order to take advantage of some borrowed rounders kit. There was some confusion and debate over how exactly to play rounders, but we managed to sort ourselves into teams and have a round each. The consensus was that we were a bit rusty/clueless, and it ended fairly with a 2-all final score.
Last but most importantly we celebrated Leticia's 50th good deed milestone with some more homemade treats - brownies from Salwa and lemon cake from Michelle (both VERY delicious!) - plus a lovely card from everyone to congratulate her amazing commitment to doing good in the community.
