Report written by Maxine VSG
8 Runners made their way through the war zone of Portsmouth's Guy Fawkes fireworks to lend a hand at PARCS Diana House. Originally we came to help give their bathroom a lick of fresh paint, however upon arrival we realised we had a bit more cut out for us!
Maura proved us wrong that it's not always whoever lives the closest that is late, and as payback to our doubts in her, she offered our services to paint the waiting room as well! Which turned out to be a good idea considering 8 people would have had a hard time squishing into the one bathroom - that's the problem when too many people want to do good!
We split up into two groups; Tracey & Maxine in the bathroom while Tony, Toni, Aimee, India, Val and Maura tackled the larger waiting room! Interchanging as we went along and helped each other out :)
Remember Remember To Have Enough Paint
Unfortunately due to our over keenness we quickly ran out of paint! The kind ladies at Diana House had to nip to B & Q for some more so we could wrap up the job. Surprisingly we managed in due time, but will hopefully be going back next week for a second coat! Keep your eyes pealed on the Community Missions list if you'd like to come help on round two!
