Report written by Alice Dalrymple
Tonight 10 Goodgymers headed to the Stapleton allotments to help Iqbal and her plot. The area is used by Bristol Mental Health and she needed a pathway clearing to help with access to the water tap.
There were a lot of brambles, a lot of stinging nettles and not many tools but we set to work chatting as we went and discussing important questions like what is worse a bramble scratch or a nettle sting?!
After a while of Phil's impressive saw wielding, Fi and Laura's wheelbarrow shifting and the rest of us pulling what we could and shouting OUCH a lot, we unearthed a bath tub which we moved to the side of our newly found path and offered the perfect photo opportunity. Despite Richard G's gloves, unfortunately no eagles came to land.
Iqbal was really impressed with our progress and would love us to come back again. A job well done!
There are 18 organisations providing services, each one chosen for its expertise and experience. They have come together under the banner of Bristol Mental Health to work together to deliver the best possible support to the city's diverse communities.
