“Oh what a beautiful moooooorrrrnnnnninnnnnggggggg! Oh what a beautiful daaaaaaaay, I’ve got a wonderful feeling, now known as the ‘parkrun daayyyyyyy”… to be fair is it was rather lush stepping out into the sunshine at 8:20am this morning heading for parkrun.

Fab to meet new volunteers, glad to see so many new ones stepping forward each week. I was again head of course marhsals, boy oh boy I do enjoy the Walkie - Talkie part of this role or ‘Talkie-Walkies’ as our French Run Director Valerie called them! He he!

You can check what happens at Norwich parkrun on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/norwichparkrun/ I often put on posts about what the volunteering roles involve.

We had 3 of our very own Goodgymmers, Liz who was representing GG in her red t-shirt, Bek & Jenny were all running Norwich parkrun this morning. Awesome to see them again on the many laps round and to have a natter.

All went very well this morning including our local hero Terence getting a PB - Huzzah! He threw his walking sticks in the air in celebration!

🌳 Norwich parkrun No: 461 ⏱ Total Finishers: 497 😊 First Ever parkrun: 42 🏆 PB’s: 73 👟 Different Clubs: 29 ❤️ Volunteers: 25

❤️❤️❤️ Love parkrun? Give some love back by volunteering! Volunteer on a Saturday morning during the month of June at Norwich parkrun (Eaton Park). Meet at the bandstand at 8:30am with the run director and the other high-viz heroes. You will have a full briefing of the mornings events and how to best support everyone participating at parkrun. Tasks are varied and include: marshalling, scanning, giving out & sorting finish tokens, tail - walker and many more. All of the tasks are explained in full, easy to do and the tasks are a fun insight into how parkrun runs! The volunteering role usually finishes around 10-10:30am. Volunteering is great for example if you become injured, are just getting into running, or even have a race on the following Sunday! If you want to give back to the parkrun community & gain new experiences then parkrun volunteering is for you. You will receive a point on your parkrun profile & if you volunteer 25 times you will gain a free purple 25 volunteer t-shirt! If you would like to volunteer at Norwich parkrun and in turn receive a Goodgym good deed. You will need to email: norwichhelpers@parkrun.com to let them know you are able to volunteer. Also let them know in your e-mail that you are part of Norwich Goodgym! Because we work with vulnerable adults and our runners participate at their own risk, participants need to be over 18. Looking forward to seeing you there, Hayley - Norwich parkrun Volunteer Organiser Run 10 : Volunteer 1, Let's keep parkrun going
