Four GG Yorkies met at Hull Road park to help with some beck maintenance.
Our task involved lots of extreme scything, which appears to be the theme of the week for GG York. To complete our task we needed to climb a fence, negotiate brambles and nettles and cut back some gigantic bulrushes which, if you weren't careful tended to fall down in such a way that they punched you in the face. In addition, we had to climb a fence to get to our work area, fight off bitey insects and carve a path down to the beck side, trying to stop just before wet feet became an issue.
Mitch tackled the brambles while David and I got stuck in with the scythes amongst the bulrushes, leaving a trail of devastation for Laura and Sarah (from St Nicks) to haul over the fence, pile onto a tarp and drag away.
An hour later, we'd made a noticeable dent in the undergrowth and developed a noticeable rumble in our tummies, ready for dinner.
