17 of us gathered round Highbury Pool this Bank Holiday Monday eager to do good.

Joining us was first timer Nicola. We also had Paul and Alice from Bristol, Neil from Camden and Lies and Bryon from Tower Hamlets. Extra cheer for Bryon who had just finished half a bottle of wine. It didn't seem to affect his good deeding much.

We split into two group for our run up to Caxton House, with Steve taking a medium-fast group and Simon leading a slightly-slower-paced-than-medium-for-some-of-it-but-medium-and-faster-at-times-even-almost-catching-up-with-the-other-group-at-one-point group.

The job at Caxton was trying to remove the last of the weeds from the brick patio so we could start filling the cracks with sand. We made great progress - stopping occasionally to rest on the beautifully-painted benches - and did actually start to lay some sand down. Frances was so excited she poured sand on Simon's head. Join us next week for "Caxton House - The Revenge".

On the way back we split into two groups again, with Caroline taking an easier-paced group and Simon taking a faster group which included some running up and over concrete benches, some uphill running and even a downhill surge at the edge. Boooootiful.

Our big debate was about the most disgusting food. Oysters, sprouts, McDonald's, custard, snails and a slug(!) were on the list.

What wasn't disgusting were the treats brought back from Freedom Land by the delightful Danica: Cinnamon Bun Oreos and Red Velvet Oreos. And if that wasn't good enough she also brought a load of shark and skate teeth and whale bone fossils from "Cheese a Peak". Thanks, Danica.

We're back at Caxton House next week as one big glorious group for more weeding and getting the rest of that sand down. Including pouring a bucket of it on a certain person's head!

See you there,
Simon

P.S. Next week's debate: is it OK to recycle old pun report titles?
