Sarah, Fi and Matt went to the outskirts of Bristol to help Mr D with some troublesome weeds.

Mr D has a low maintenance garden with mostly paving stones, sadly some weeds has found a way through alongside some moss.

Sarah and Fi tackled the front drive and where very thorough with removing every weed and scrubbing the tiles to get every weed gone. Matt turned up a bit late and tackled the back garden. After 90 minutes the drive was looking like new so we headed home.

Matt's plan for Saturday: Run a marathon, Complete a Mission

Matt was late as he was running the Gordano Round Marathon before driving across to the mission, and this took longer than expected.

The race itself was over a lovely course from the cliffs between Portishead and Cleavdon, to hill top views of Bristol, Avonmouth and Wales across the water, plus some enchanting woodland routes. It also had a number of hills and mud and was slightly over a marathon distance especially as it was semi-self navigation and he may had taken the odd wrong turn. This brought out the great and the good of Bristol trail running and it was great to see such support for a local race.

The race donates all of it's profits to the Bristol Children's Hospice, and at mile 23 all the runners go through the Hospice itself which acts as a feed station, manned by the patients and families. It was great to see patients out playing drums and cheering us on, and the messages of encouragement tugged at the heart strings. In addition the Race Director announced at the start of the race that he had had a tough week as his father had passed away. So all in all a more emotional marathon than normal, and a life affirming day.

Fi and Sarah's plans: Double deeding: attend a group run, then a mission

Challenge accomplished: see part one of the plan here Well done ladies.
