Here's what Mr E of E8 had to say about the mission:

"Thank you very much. They did very well!"

Mr E of E8, mission beneficiary

Saturday morning so we converged fresh from the clip of Hackney Marshes ParkRun in one direction, and the more leisurely pace of 14km across N London in the other...

The task was typical GoodGym fare - weeding in front and back, as the occupant was now finding it difficult with age.

We were well supplied with tools, and there were no plants to work around and keep, so we were free to purge the place with extreme prejudice - the only things left alive were the worms.

Between front and back we filled a whole wheelie-bin with weeds, leaving the paving and gravel clear in the back, and the front an empty patch of soil ready to be planted with something tasty, or something colourful (or both...)

Brilliant job - quite a big garden for an older person. I hope Hackney Wick community gardening get him some tubs to enhance your work. Also to get out there with a sharp knife in a few weeks time as the plants with tap roots will resurrect themselves.
