Another week, another shop.
Not too many items on Mrs J's shopping list this week for the fridge, but plenty of cleaning products - largely due to the havoc created by Mrs J's washing machine; a machine that not only seems to have taken to washing her clothes, but repeatedly the kitchen floor too! Mrs J hopes to only go one or 2 more weeks until her washing machine is replaced!
Specific grocery requests included some lamb sachets for her little dog, and Fish for Mrs J; which are more troublesome to source on a regular basis than I would have imagined; no doubt a COVID or a BREXIT thing ..... prehaps one day, when the world goes back to some sort of state of normality, I will have a bench mark to compare, for now I will happily assume my role as an upcoming expert in supermarket shelf stocks! (another welcomed procrastination badge for my apron!)
Metres were topped up and post read. We also had a chat about her daughters birthday celebrations, the plans they are making for the summer and just generally the future. Although Mrs J is always very positive (humbley so, often in the face of adversity) it was really lovely to hear her feeling genuinely positive and less anxious. Although she often speaks to her daughters by telephone, I can only begin to imagine how much having them with her in person will mean.
Mrs J was also telling me about the book she is writing in her head; never a dull moment for Mrs J and her dog!
Together with Oxford Hub we are trying to arrange for priority delivery slots, such that Mrs. J is able to access a regular fortnightly shop, however for now I'll see Mrs. J next weekend and look forward to hearing about her book updates, her wonderful creativity and hopefully even more positive news about her family!
