At GoodGym York we like nothing more than an emergency call out to shift a massive pile of bark.

Jude from Danesmead Wood happened to be passing by when a neighbour was chipping up some of the conifers from their garden. She discovered that they had no plans for the woodchip and were in fact delighted to be able to offload it so close to home.

Six of us stepped in to shovel the pine fresh chippings into wheelbarrows (and a delightfully roomy red trolley) so that we could use it to top up the woodland paths.

Though the friends of Danesmead Wood were doubtful that we'd finish the job today, a call of:

Five Egg minutes† to go!

spurred the team into action and the last of the path was laid in record time.

As always, Jude had prepared some delicious tray bake as a well earned reward.

†Egg minutes are approximately twice as long as real minute
