Report written by Conroy
Tonight we ran 6.7km, in the cold to assist Sue and the folks of St Augustine's fill their skip as part of the ongoing work in transforming the courtyard for the community of St Augustine's.
Tonight we welcomed back Kate who despite not been on a group run with us in a while have been busy visiting her coach on a weekly basis so much so that tonight was her 50th good deed. Congratulations Kate not only on reaching her 50th but also on her recent nuptial.
After a bit of chatting and catching up on what have been happening with every since we last met, we did the domestics then headed outside for our warm up before running to St Augustine's Church where Sue had been awaiting our arrival. Between her and the folks of St Augustine they had managed to bag up the stones, gravel and other unwanted items from the church yard for us to help them fill a skip. We arrived at the church at approximately 19:35 and by 19:50 we had filled the skip and were eating some delicious treats given to us by Sue. Sue was very pleased and impressed with how quick we had shifted all the stuff and filled the skip, more hands sure made light work and we were able to clear all that was there to go into the skip.
The transformation work to the court yard of the church continues and if you were not there on our first visit back in July 2018 take a look at this run report to see what it was like and although tonights photos does not do it any justice you can see the difference all these months have made. Do join us next year for our next visit to St Augustine's where Martin and Sue will be supervising us and teaching us gabion. Whats that you ask? you have two options you can Google it or join us on our next visit where all will be revealed.
