Report written by Nicky Woodall (she/her)
Tonight, after a quick warm-up/fitness, we went to help out at the lovely Old English Gardens. Jessica led a walking/dancing group whilst Nick and I took a tour of Danson Gardens, including running round the beautiful lake and hearing all about the various sports that happen there (water polo/kayaking anyone?!)
When we arrived, the other Nicky (it all got very confusing with names this evening!) quickly set us to work. Half the group were chopping back a rather large bush that had got a tad overgrown, and did a smashing job pruning it back into shape. The rest of us were clearing up after some tall trees had been cut down, clearing the debris from the flowerbed and hedge whilst making friends with a very large slug that Jessica named Terry.
That's a huge slug! - Jessica Reaching that branch off the hedge was the highlight of my month - Sean
All too soon, it was time to head back to base, but not before we'd done a group photo of our very best slug impressions! Jessica and Nick swapped roles for the walk/run back and Sean did a stirling job backmarking again. After some cool-down stretches we parted ways [until next time] (https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/local-street-run-jog-walk-and-litter-pick)
