Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Our evening consisted of 6 runners running 6k, core work and cat & mouse
A return visit to Durning hall this week saw us finishing up what we started in the retro gym. Joined by our newest member Steve who cycled a pretty epic journey to join us.
We armed ourselves with cleaning utensils as those of us with our red GG army shirts camouflaged against the walls. It became pretty hard once again to notice just how much of the grime we were actually getting off. A few steps back every now and again and the soapy water turning murky grey in our buckets was a good indicator. At various intervals we downed tools to meet in the centre of the hall for a series of partnered core work. A few looks of horror and a couple of shrieks and mumurs and everyone got stuck in. We finished off with a throwback wheelbarrow race before leaving. (We will call this the initiation, plenty more to come over the coming weeks)
En route back to the park, we had a few rounds of cat and mouse giving everyone the chance to be chased or to become the chaser. Several bursts of speed later and we cruised our way back through Forest Gate to the Aquatics centre for a cool down.
Another great run and visit to Aston Mansfield Charity.
The charity are currently running a campaign to keep Newham’s only LGBT group up and running. You can support them and catch a film screening on 1st April Here
