Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Jer Boon
GoodGym headed over to the Nest Project, to do some seasonal sorting.
The Nest are a charity hub providing children's clothing for those who need them. First up we helped with some rearranging of the summer and winter stock, relocating some of the boxes so that winter clothing was put upstairs in the storage area and those summer containing summer clothing was brought downstairs where it'll be more readily available over the coming months.
The downstairs storage area is on top of some cupboards, so Mark (handy up ladders), Rachel (health and safety) and Alice (multi-skilled) set about reaching winter boxes down from the cupboard tops; Jane and Meyrick (no head for heights) ferried the summer boxes from upstairs, and winter boxes back up; and with Jer (doesn't need a ladder to get high) fulfilling a sweeper role and moving boxes to and from the high cupboards without a ladder.
We did all this in no time, so for a secondary task we sorted the contents of individual boxes, which were boxed by age range (3-6 months, 6-12 months etc) into separate winter and summer stock.
