Thank you Louisa for the title.

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon and what a difference it makes when its sunny and you can feel spring in the air. This afernoon's session at the clinic was attended by Jo, Judy, Katie L, Louisa and Lucy. We all arrived at the earlier time of 1230 (well 4 of us did) for our tests before getting the all clear and being assigned to our duties for the afternoon. We took over from the morning team of John, Katie and Paul. Judy was 'cough' slightly delayed, so John stayed a little later to make sure we weren't short on numbers.

Lucy was in the waiting room after the injection as she is trained in Anaphylaxis which is key to ensure that all patients who have had the injection do not show any symptoms of this after. She brought a book incase she had a quiet period but at the end of the day I don't think even the first chapter had been read which shows how busy she had been.

Louisa, Katie L and Jo were over at the church, Jo took over the walkie talkie duties from Katie C-R , Louisa was on the back door making sure the patients knew where they were going to the medical centre and Katie L was meeting and greeting the patients at the front door until she changes shifts and headed to the back door with Louisa. Judy took over the car park duties near the medical centre radioing through for any patients arriving there.

The flow of patients was a lot quieter and steadier than previous sessions, we didn't have any times where the waiting room was full and as soon as patients came in we usually got them straght through for their vaccine.

Eggstra extra read all about it

If patients sit down waiting prior to getting their vaccine they need to leave a laminated X on the seat so that we know which ones need to be cleaned. We had one eager patient who left carrying his X and Jo shouted to Lou to see if we could get the X back. Lou misunderstanding the northern tones thought Jo was asking for eggs, until she realised what was meant.

We finished at an earlier time of 6pm at this was the time the last patients were due in and we headed back into the clinic to sign out and grab a group photo.

One conversation we had whilst at the church was how much we found our Goodgym group had helped us over the last year, getting us through tough days and times when we just needed a group of amazing people to be at the end of a Whatsapp chat or a Zoom call.
