Shopping for Mrs R

Mr and Mrs R needed some help with their shopping as they are unable to get out themselves.

They asked I collect the money and the shopping list beforehand so I cycled down to their house and checked all the items with them.

Had to get over the first hurdle of their very tricky gate latch!

Once past this they greeted me and provided me with the list and my instructions. They were surprised when I said I knew the local shop they asked me to go to- I told them I used to live in Southall. It was an interesting shopping trip, as they wanted Okra and Round Aubergine... Okra I’m used to but what is a round Aubergine? I had to ask! Purple and striped and super cute and much smaller than what I would call an aubergine.

Only thing I couldn’t get was the Pizza and I was under strict instruction not to get a substitute.

Mrs R was happy I was able to find her “dip dips” which are the choco dips- the bread stick type things with chocolate dip! As soon as I read the list the image of these came to my head. I had these as a kid so knew them well. She said everyone gets confused by this.

Also managed to carry 12 cans of iron bru back for them which she was impressed with.

A lovely couple. Had a nice little chat and wished them well.

Celebrated with McDonald’s as always (cctv picture-haha)
