Today's mission involved building a bed and hanging some curtains to enable Mr D to move into his new flat - fortunately Mr D's social worker J was also on site to provide assistance.

Hilary and I quickly got to work on the bed frame - being a flat pack it involved multiple parts and a vast array of different sized bolts and washers and not the clearest of instructions, and at one point the forcing down by thumbs of numerous fiddly plastic caps to lock in the cross pieces...join GoodGym and give your thumbs a good workout.

In spite of the thumb pain, we managed to get it all assembled much to Mr D's delight, and with the mattress on top, we unwrapped his sheets and duvet, and got the bed fully made up to hotel standard and ready for his use.

We then turned our attention to fixing brackets to hang a curtain rail, and the curtains themselves - our sore thumbs by this stage were crying out for a rest, but we pressed on, and soon had the curtains hung, and Mr D finally had a new bedroom to sleep in.
