Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tower Hamlets runner
When 2 regulars met 2 fresh faces at Borough, they cooperated smoothly for the food cooperative.
"Well done guys! We absolutely smashed it."
Despite the chill, we braved a walk to Waterloo and back with 5 boxes of bananas donated by Holiday Inn. It's only 18kg per box. Feeling generous and proud, I'll do the Maths for you.
90 kg in total. And then of course we didn't miss the usual restocking and vegetables sorting tasks.
Aren't we all awesome? (we could have gone bananas for this banana rush... )
P. S. Welcome and shout out to Beau for his very first goodgym mission; Natalia for her first mission for this amazing low cost food waste store
P. S. 2.0 Another honorable mention goes to Beau who shared us some funny banana fact and myth. "Bananas are bad luck on boats." "Bananas release a gas called ethene that make other fruits ripen, except oranges."
P. P. S. Pictures are not for reference. It's way too obvious to tell who is the hardworking ones. (ans, the rehpargotohp) Accurately documented.
The food cooperative provides members with low cost food to help reduce food bills and tackle food insecurity. It also reuses surplus food to prevent food being thrown away.
