The best brown lawn in Bromley
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bromley.
- Wednesday, 3rd of June 2020
Hannah and Ian met up for second day running for another mission, and again we were moving furniture to make space for a hospital bed.
The double bed had some tricks up its sleeve in terms of moving it to the garage. The mattress was the heaviest either of us have come across, but it was quite soft and bent round the corners on the stairs nicely. The base, however, only folded not split in two, and at the bottom of the stairs there was a nice little problem with a 90deg bend, a step down, banisters and stair rails. Try it this way, try it that, no avail, even managed to get Hannah stuck between the bed and the wall at one point - think harder! Back to the first way - an inch more sideways, push a bit harder - yeay, it does bend enough to squeeze it round the corner!
Mr H was quite chatty and it was nice to give him some company as well briefly as he hasn't gone out of the house since February. I complimented him jokingly on the state of his back lawn, and he proudly said he had the best brown lawn in Bromley. Methinks there might be some competition for that title at the moment, but nice to have a joke about it.
