This evening we had a great time at Woodlands Park Primary celebrating terrific Tessa's 50th good deed, fabulous Rachel's 100th and super Sara's birthday. Thanks to Taskforce member Nicola for organising this session, and to the teachers who made us feel welcome, gave us the tools for the job and kept opening the gate for us!

During the evening, we made the most of the school environment to explore the full curriculum:

Maths

4 runners + 5 walkers + 2 cyclists + 4 GoodGymers meeting at the task = 15 awesome people

Counting backwards from 23 for Sara's birthday squats. Also some complicated adding and subtracting and VAT calculations to reach the number 23.

Dividing cakes into fractions and then adding fractions together when we went for seconds.

Geography

Some map reading on the 2km journeys to and from the school (as well as some guesswork).

The West and North sides of the fence surrounding the swimming pool were painted, and since we did the South and East sides on our last visit, we've now done the lot. Gold stars all round!

Art

Large paint brushes wielded with great enthusiasm. Some face and body painting too.

The art of balancing a cone on your head in the wind and not letting it smack you in the face.

Rachel started GoodGym in March ‘22

And quickly became one of the crew

She helped the Baby Bank move site

Then it feels like somehow overnight

By painting, sorting, and digging up weeds

She’s reached an epic 100 good deeds!

She’s game for a trough off, or going potty

She isn’t fazed when the ivy gets knotty.

She’s a go-getter, a grafter, a giver

She can even count people into a river!

And visited Ms W on her birthday as well
