Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
A little chilly last night in Bexley but it was dry and great weather for a run. As we arrive and sign in it's great to hear about everyone's weekend and what they got up to. Tonight it was a leaflet run to promote a run. That's a great task for people who love to run, and it couldn't be for a better cause. Tonight we were good deeding for our very own Community Hospice to let people now about the Colour Run that's being held in Danson Park this June.
Everyone armed with leaflets we turned into a 7 strong relay team
With everyone armed with leaflets we turned into a 7 strong relay team. Hitting 7 letter boxes at a time. We just look like a fine oiled weaving machine that was catching the attention of everyone we passed. This was also our moment to spread the word of Goodgym and get some more people looking to run and get fit involved........
Fartlek always brings a smile and a giggle
Running in and out of gardens, speeding up, slowing down, stopping to chat, running up ramps and walking up stairs couldn't be a better fartlek training session. But without fail the word Fartlek always brings a smile and a giggle. (For those not sure, Fartlek is a Swedish word for Speed Play) Starting to get a little tired we finally finished at the bottom of Danson park. With such a beautiful sunset we decided we couldn't head back without running round the lake and enjoying a final natter before heading back to base camp Crooklog for our cool down. I love the cool down. It's we talk about how the task went, laugh about the different things that happened on route, tell each other what were up to in the following week and discuss running techniques etc. Sarah and Susan just need to say you are doing brilliant with your training. Especially adding a run to and from Goodgym. You guys are gonna smash your 10K goal at the Vitility Run 🙌🏻. Eileen we missed you leading the way this evening. Rest thatbleg up and hopefully she you back next week. So to finish, thanks everyone for such an enjoyable evening of fun, laughs, running and fitness. See you all next week!!
