Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Ross Dobson
One lone runner made it to Nunsmoor Parks bike garden for our regular monthly mission.
There were a lot of tasks to complete within the park that I and the other volunteers completed making the area safer through removing beech nuts to prevent doggy injuries and to make the paths safer for children to trimming back hedges coming into the main entrance.
I opted for demolishing of hedges and shrubbery that was encroaching onto the path, to widen and neaten the main avenue, alongside another volunteer.
We then finished with the obligatory tea and biscuits to finish the morning.
The Bike Garden is a vibrant community space developed on the site of a previous bowling green in Nuns Moor Park, which now serves the community as a place to join in on regular food growing activities, place to hire for private and public events, that may be regular or one-offs, and much more
