Whilst burdock has been used for centuries as a treatment for certain ailments, it can also be very troublesome for other plants. The seeds spread quickly when the seed heads dry and break, scattering thousands of seeds far and wide. The weeds also spread when the prickly burs catch a ride on passing people or animals. The ability to quickly grow and spread means that they can quickly overrun a large area. The plant can also spread disease to other plants.

So, tonight, we were cutting back the burdock. And we filled two massive bags!

But, more than that, this was Jen's 400th good deed - wowzer! We're very proud of her - great work, Jen!
