10 Goodgymers took part in a relay around the city of Bath. Many miles were run and walked. Many hills were climbed and many smiles were had.
It all began at 0930 on a sunny and chilly Sunday morning, Pascale ran to the first checkpoint at Laura fountain. From here the clock started ticking. She took a selfie at the fountain and posted to the Whatsapp group. Let the fun begin!
Pascale ran to checkpoint 2 for 1000 to meet Emily at a 2m+ distance at the Botanical garden. A selfie was taken and the invisible baton handed to Emily.
Emily ran to checkpoint 3 to meet Jer at 1030 at Green park station. Jer took the invisible baton and ran up to checkpoint 4 to meet himself (he had two legs!) at 1100 at Brickfields park. From here Jer, ran to up to checkpoint 5 at Alexandra park to meet Emily at 1130.
Emily ran down from Alexandra point and then had to climb up another hill to checkpoint 6 at Sham Castle at midday! From here Emily took a selfie as she was covering two legs and then ran to checkpoint 7. Back down the hill she went and out to Bathampton to the George for 1230. Here she was met by Doris
Dora ran along the canal and then up to checkpoint 8 at Camden Crescent to meet Alice at 1300
Alice ran across Bath to Weston checkpoint 9 to meet Tim and his pooch at 1330
Tim ran to checkpoint 10 at the Locksbrook Inn on the canal to meet Jane at 1400
Jane also with pooch, ran up to checkpoint 11 at Bath city farm for 1430 and took a selfie as she was running two legs. From here Jane ran to the top of Twerton roundhill for checkpoint 12 to meet Andy at 1500.
Andy walked to checkpoint 13 to meet Ruth at the Odd down cycle circuit for 1530
Ruth walked to checkpoint 14 at Bath Skyline to meet Helen at 1600
Helen ran across the skyline and then back down Bathwick hill to checkpoint 15 at the Holburne museum for 1630. From here she ran to Laura fountain where the fun started to finish the relay!
An amazing acheivement by all the Goodgymers. From 0930 to 1600 we had a Goodgymer out around Bath getting their daily exercise!
