Well that was probably the chillest GoodGym sesh ever. I walked to the Bridge House to meet Ian, fresh from beasting the Chumley/Chologhmbleighey Castle Triathlon at the weekend. He was well chuffed with a 1:40 finishing time and the biggest medal you've ever seen.
He'd cycled (legs not feeling the running unsurprisingly...) so we strolled down to St John's The Evangelist in Penge, a brand new task for us! There we were joined by Hannah, Cat and Kate, as well as Councillor Kathy and Ian from the church. The grassy area out the front looked fine, but out the back IT WAS WILD.
The trees were falling over the path, weeds were spilling everywhere and the grass was high. Luckily we were equipped with strimmers, rakes and secateurs and tasked with clearing a 1m space either side of the path.
We promptly cracked on, snipping back brambles, slicing the grass and generally tidying up. Everyone was on good form and loving using the power tools! In 40 minutes we were done and we hit the road, some of us to the pub and some of us headed home.
Sterling work all round! 👏
