Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gill (She/her)
It was a rather wet and dreary evening, but not for our trio of GoodGYmers who made their way to Luton Foodcycle for the weekly dinner. Gill and Martin were part of the cooking team and were keen to get stuck into helping to prepare a sumptuous feast for our guests. Martin was on good form both in cooking up an amazing asparagus and mushroom soup accompanied by a very cheesy toasty, and also with the best one liner in the kitchen tonight. "It was just the tip of the iceberg..." Gill got busy creating an appropriate accompaniments for her pancakes, by caramelising some bananas, and creating a red berry sauce. Mayra then joined the team to lend her support to the hosting team and was soon setting out the tables and getting the room ready for the guests. The rain and football had put a few of our guests off, but those who came were greeted with Mayra's inevitable smile and made very welcome.
FoodCycle use food that would otherwise go to waste and put on a free social dinner for anyone who wants to come along, whether hungry or lonely, they welcome everyone to come for dinner and meet other people
