27 Goodgymers ran 5km to help Kentish Town City Farm prepare for their Apple Day!
Welcome along to Alexis whose first time it was last night.
In the news this week:
After we'd warmed up Rosie led the way to Kentish Town City Farm, where this Sunday they have their Apple Day aka Harvest Festival. It's a brilliant day of fun for all the family! Our task was to put up not one but two gazebos - KTCF has got one but they also borrowed another from Frelighters City Farm in Islington.
Once we were up on the top field we split into two teams of 15 and 11, thinking that the KTCF gazebo was bigger but actually the small gazebo team became the bigger team once we realised that the Frelighters gazebo was huge! It's like David and Golaith... maybe..
Team + Work = Goat Hugs
Using astute team work skills and communication the teams got to work placing the A, B and C poles in postition for lift off. Once parts were ajoined it started looking like a gazebo. On both occasions once the canvas was fitted their were shouts for TOGGLES, TOGGLES PLEASE, TOGGLES NEEDED HERE! Everyone essentially got thoroughly excited by the word toggle(s), it's fair play it is a brilliant word to shout.
Once the legs were up we were in business, however on the bigger gazebo we were lacking a leg! At one point it looked like Hanry was going to have to stay their all night... dont worrt it got sorted (probably). Next up came the poop, why poo you say? Well the big bags of muck are needed to weigh down the legs and keep them in place.
Once we were packed up we did some goat hugging with Rosie the baby goat, Rosie even met Rosie - it was such fun :)
Thanks for coming guys - next week are going back to the farm to take down the gazebos! Sign up here.
