A last-minute training plan became and even more of a last-minute session. Four of us were supposed to meet in Woking, but as the day went, only Kirsty and I were available! After some thinking we decided to run in Knaphill (instead of running to Woking, complete the planned hill training in Woking and take a bus back).

After a quick warm-up in the dark, Kirsty led the way and pushed, or rather pulled, me up several of the local hills! We both felt our hamstrings screaming away, our hearts beating faster than I ran (not too difficult, I admit). We trained up 4 hills, disregarding the “easy” ones.

Hopefully, this training session will help us both improve our fitness and speed. Kirsty is attempting to run a sub 30 at Homewood parkrun very soon and I have no doubt she will do it.

This Saturday GG Woking are helping the Knaphill Federation of Schools to plant 250 trees in their orchard. Then on Sunday we will volunteer at Woking junior parkrun before starting our “Run Up To Christmas” virtual team running event. All the details are on our website, will you join us?

Happy running to you all.

Haha, Anne, as the other Queen would say, recollections may vary! P.s Battersea, not Homewood. Homewood is my nemesis 🐸
