Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lilian
Two members of Coventry GoodGym used pedal power to travel to the Social Supermarket to support their mission to feed Coventry!
When we arrived, staff were busy painting rainbow coloured social distancing lines in the outside area. We were fully briefed about further social distancing and safety guidelines in order to operate safely. GoodGym members are now able to operate seamlessly with regular volunteers as we have worked together over the weeks.
Vickie was a runner, taking bags between the storerooms and customers. Meanwhile Lil organised the fresh produce. Throughout the day we took many deliveries of produce and an abundance of Easter Eggs for children.
It was a very productive day where we got food parcels out to many families and people in need for the Easter weekend.
Feeding Coventry is a small charity with big ambition: To create a food resilience city in Coventry where nobody goes hungry. We are committed to working with partners and local communities to tackle the root causes of hunger, build food security, provide low cost food to vulnerable groups and support people in crisis.
