This was my third time doing a community mission at Millennium Green and, as always, our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Paul, Beth, Danny and I did some litter picking, gardening, sweeping and pruning of branches overhanging the pavement. It was very refreshing to see that there was not much litter around (in comparison to the record 26 bags we collected in July!). 😊
One of our tasks was preparing the flower beds for potential future school visits. We cut the overgrown grass and cleared the flower bed area, so it could be easily accessed. Beth suggested turning the soil over, which was a good call as it will, hopefully, be used for gardening projects by local schools very soon. 🌱
After a morning of hard work, we decided to treat ourselves to a coffee and have a catch up in a local cafe. It was at that point we realised this was Paul's 200th deed, so BIG shout out to him. 💫
P.S. Good luck to Beth, who has just signed up to do a half-marathon in several weeks time

It will help make the reservoir cleaner and safer for visitors and the many plants, birds and animals that live there.
