This Tuesday GoodGym Ealing was doubling up on their double community mission for Cultivate London and doubling up on the variety of tasks too! We came back to the Hanwell and Acton sites to help Cultivate load the rubbish into the van at the first location and unload it at the latter one. Today's cargo contained lots of planks, beams, and other wooden things - including crucifix-like objects spiked with nails, yikes! There was also an old TV and a chest of drawers, both very satisfying when thrown into the skip!

Alex, Declan, Chris and Kash, who started the task in Acton, were soon joined by Harvey. He was chasing the van all the way from Hanwell again! At that point, the team realised there were too many of us - but there was another task waiting - shovelling the compost! Some of us were super-excited about it and were ready to get our hands dirty since last Saturday! Romina and Auberon from Cultivate redirected part of the GoodGym gang to the compost shovelling zone and gave us detailed instructions with the demo: dig the soil from the bottom of the compost pile, keep the rubbish out, and pack the rest into the bags. We did pretty well on that job, making sure we leave something to shovel for the Hounslow GoodGym the next day.

Romina promised us lots of work for Cultivate London in the upcoming weeks, so we're looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and shovelling whatever else has to be shovelled - be it leaves, compost, soil or manure.
