Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
The festive tasks were kicked off last night with a run to deliver leaflets for a community Christmas carol concert - unfortunately everybody was moving so fast and efficiently to get as many leaflets out as possible that I didn't manage to catch them on camera! Apologies for the lack of interesting photos this week, I'll do much better next Monday at our (inside - hurrah!) task to pack boxes for families at Christmas.
During our warm up we had a topical discusion on our favourite carols, with in the bleak midwinter (very apt given the weather conditions) and silent night topping the charts. We then started off with a lovely downhill run to pick up the flyers, which we were delighted to find were carefully sorted and organised into neat bundles with the destination block of flats written on the front. Dividing up into teams we each took a set each and made our way up and down the many flights of stairs popping them into letter boxes at a lightening quick rate.
We dispersed hundreds of them throughout the estate, getting the word about the community event on Sunday which features songs, messages of hope and mulled wine. Hopefully there will be a brilliant turn out.
Don't forget about the GoodGym wide social on the 14th in Kings Cross - all welcome! Plus our very own Wandsworth Christmas party next week] (https://www.goodgym.org/v3/sessions/goodgym-christmas-social-6823de55-4a8c-4887-baae-d4e6612af998) - hope to see you there!
And if you're looking for a fun task which will also deliver a good workout this saturday, why not check out this mission to help create a new school garden?
