I got a message from Kingston Council requesting some shopping be delivered to Mr & Mrs D. They had a heavy order including 8 pints of milk, 2 bags of potatoes and various other essential items which they preferred from ‘Waitrose own brand’. I had to phone them a few times while in the shop. “There are no more packets of digestive biscuits on the shelf, would hobnobs do instead? The original all bran cereal is sold out, would you mind golden crunch instead? I’m sorry your newspaper is sold out!” Despite all that, Mr and Mrs D were very pleased and applauded my efforts as I cycled up Surbiton Hill with my bicycle bags loaded full of what I could acquire from their list! They gave great praise for GoodGym and what we’re doing to support the isolating and elderly residents of our community and were very grateful for their food shop delivery! Mission accomplished!
