Report written by Tim Dickson
Last night we headed out to the Danson Youth Centre to clear up the leaves that had invaded their community garden. Tonight we had two groups. One, our runners. Two, our walkers. The runners had a 5K loop to conquer, whist the walkers pushed out a 2.5K half loop. Big shout out to Susan for looking after the front runners, and Nick for looking after the walkers this week. You guys rock!!
The run was different tonight. We had a free light show as hundreds of fire works lit the sky as we pounded the pavements to Danson Youth Centre. In fact i believe we were helped along as the loud constant banging kept our cadence in check :-)
THE LOUD CONSTANT BANGING KEPT OUR CADENCE IN CHECK..............
On arrival we all headed to the garden area to attack the leaf invasion. It was a task we could really get stuck into and after a dozen bin trips the area was starting to look brand new.
As with every week time flies and before we knew it, it was time for our final group piccie. Now, i'm not sure if people tell me the truth when they tell be they are tired after the run and the task but as soon as i say 'last one back to Crooklog buys the coffees', everyone seems to find a whole lot of stored energy all of a sudden.....
Next week we're heading over to help out at Mencap office, so come on, sign up and we'll see you at Crooklog ready to go. Until then have an awesome week everyone.
Great location that looks after the well being of our children and local community
