Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
26 runners ran 7.5k and sorted 68 bags of donated foodbank food into categorised crates
On his 49th GoodGym run, Axel Manzano bravely took the map and led the route north to the Vauxhall Food bank. We took the pace pretty easy and chatted our way through the 3.8k journey.
Hectic Bustle
As soon as we arrived, Sarah explained the task - to sort 68 carrier bags of food (donated by local shoppers) into categorised crates. We set ourselves the challenge of completing the task in 10 minutes. A hectic bustle of weighing food in, dividing it into groups, and shifting trolleys and crates lasted for about 7mins and the final 3 we spent neatly stacking everything into storage and collecting up empty bags.
"Thanks so much" - Sarah
Sarah said "Thanks so much, I can't tell you how much this helps us - imagine just the 2 of us trying to get through all of this! You really are stars" and wish us well for the return journey. We weren't ready to go back yet though - we nipped to the nearest park and played a game/drill to investigate our Gears 1, 2 and 3.
All the way back
Each time a whistle blew, the runners in front of it stopped, turned and sprinted to the very back of the group. We continued this drill all the way back to Brixton, with some runners completing FAR more than the 7.5k needed, and at quite a pace!
Epic running, and great work for a great cause.
