Report written by David Mansfield
The neat row of hawthorn trees we planted a few months back had been completely overgrown with nettles and other weeds, we couldn't even see the trees when we arrived!
We waded in through the nettles to find our trees and began pulling up the weeds all around the trees. The nettles put up a good fight but we won the battle in the end, with tingly arms and legs as battle scars!
It was great to see almost all of the trees doing really well, and now they're free from the competition of the nettles I'm sure they'll grow up nicely!
