Six and a half GoodGymmers met at Great Salterns for an early evening litter pick.
Mini-GoodGymmer Alice filled one bag with litter before leaving the car park, then we all headed over the the field alongside the Brent Geese Refuge where we found lots of the usual - crisp packets, cans, bottle and very chewed tennis balls!!
After finishing our pick, we took on another picking task - blackberries this time! I'm looking forward to seeing lots of lovely blackberry bakes, GoodGymmers!!

It’s a sunny Saturday and six of us headed to the Lido (4 of us after a morning swim and salsa) where we have been regular helping keeping the site clean and maintained whilst it’s closed this season. Paul soon set us to work on our list of tasks. Ellie wire brushed the gate area near the storage area so that it would be ready for painting. Sarah was in charge of the inventory of the equipment that is used for the pool, e.g lane dividers, kayaks and life vests etc and started sorting out the room getting rid of anything that didn’t make sense to keep. Sam was armed with the metal paint and headed towards the gate to paint around that area. Katie and Dr Jo were tackling some stubborn weeds around the perimeter of the Lido and removing those. Jo North headed into the ladies armed with cleaning products to tackle the mildew on the doors and cubicles. After 2 hours we were done and we headed off to get a drink and a snack before venturing home in the sun.
We’re back at the Lido again next weekend. Sign up here.

The GoodGym dance troupe were out in force this Saturday morning and the session was very popular with 10 'contestants' plus Maura (Birthday Girl) Teacher. After doing some hip loosening exercises we practiced some basic steps as we listened to the Latin music. A few tunes later, it was obvious that the music was helping work those hips and the moves getting sexier with alot of laughing. At the end of the session, it wasn't a '10' from Len Goodman, but it was definitely a '7'! Thanks to Judy who was our Photographer this morning snapping away as we danced. Special thanks to India and Katie for the delicious brownies, carrot cake and chocolate oat squares.

Ellie Powell earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Ellie completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ellie was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Back to the on-going clearance mission in St Faith's church garden, and Ellie's first Goodgym since lockdown; welcome back Ellie!
Ellie, India and Rachel tackled the far corner of the church gardens, unfortunately a popular location for items to be discarded by passers by. It did not disappoint, we cleared back the old twigs and litter to find underpants (A Goodgym classic), old 'gardening' tools (let's assume), 'sharpes' and some interesting old statues!
The time flew by as always and we finished with a chat to the other volunteers with drinks and snacks :-)
Great progress clearing the garden by everyone so far! Watch this space for next week's listing.
