This evening we returned to the Warneford Hospital site to flashmob some of their flower beds.
The flower beds in the aptly named Meadow ward had got quite over-grown and needed a good weed, a food water and some general TLC.
After crowning Ellie for achieving her 100th Good deed and enjoying some Celebrations, we set to work.
Thistles, lots of grass and some pesky dandelions were removed, a wild patch preserved to protect a hedgehog house, and the best Celebration thoroughly debated. I'm team Bounty - possibly in the 1% minority of the population!
Watering cans were emptied and woodchip spread to hopefully ensure that the beds stay happy!
Good work team.
Double points if you can name the musical reference in the title.....,

We spent a sunny Wednesday evening helping out at the Marston Community Allotment. We weeded bindweed and nettles from a no-dig bed (sssshhh, don't tell - we had to dig a little bit to get the epic roots out), watered all the planted-up beds, and shovelled and barrowed compost to top up one bed and fill a raised bed.
Speedy work from all involved!

On Saturday we spruced up the garden at Littlemore Village Hall so that it's ready for them to host outdoor events through the spring and summer months.
We planted trees, pruned hazel, weeded flower beds, watered the plants, and cleaned the outdoor furniture. We were rewarded with sunshine and an abundance of tea and cake. Fun in the sun.

James Ashford earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
James completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, James was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
