I’m stumped

Coventry Report written by Laura Denham

Eight amazing GoodGymers and Cameron, sprang into action to tame the overgrown secret garden at Stretton School.

Rumour had it there was a pond hidden somewhere beneath the brambles, and it became our mission to uncover it. And uncover it we did—though it was a bit more swamplike than we had hoped! Along the way, we discovered raised beds, a hose tap, and even a polytunnel still waiting to be revealed (a task for another day, as time wasn’t on our side).

We were thrilled to welcome Paul for his first session—he threw himself into the task like an absolute pro.

A beautiful evening spent in great company and good conversation.

Fantastic work, you superstars!

We had a wheely(barrow) good time

Coventry Report written by Laura Denham

Five Goodgymers spent the evening helping out at the Positive Choices allotment - an amazing space they use to support young people, giving them fresh air, room to talk, and time to connect.

The allotment was looking a little unloved when we arrived, so we rolled up our sleeves! We weeded the beds and got to work with the wheelbarrows, moving woodchips to tidy up the paths around the planting areas.

Tucked away not far from a main road, it felt like a hidden little haven, birds singing, peaceful vibes, and all-round good energy. We didn’t quite manage to get everything finished, so we’re already planning a return visit to finish off!

Fab work team!!

Wheel meet again!

Coventry Report written by Laura P (she/her)

Nine Coventry Goodgymers went to the Earlsdon Primary School allotment to help with general maintenance and tidying around the plot.

The school have recently taken on some new spaces on the allotment site, so the first job was to clear all of the rubbish and leftover bits and bobs and after much wheelbarrowing up and down the allotment site, the space was clear. We then moved our attention to moving a large table and a water bowser to their new positions, and we finished our evening with a speed weeding session, ten minutes to clear planters of weeds.

Fantastic team work everyone, and in daylight too!
