Ding Dong Merrily on High! Five GoodGymers decked the Colchester Borough Homes with boughs of holly through some festive singing. The residents enjoyed joining in, one gentleman even getting involved on his harmonica!
It certainly wasn't a silent night but there were lots of Jingle bells, plus hot chocolate and mince pies!
Special thanks to Emilyfor her musical prowess!
We Wish you a Merry Christmas!

Tonight, 5 GoodGym Colchester volunteers got fit while doing good at Colchester Foodbank ๐ชโค๏ธ
The team headed out for an active session with a purpose, combining movement with meaningful community support. Once at the foodbank, everyone got stuck in with essential tasks that help keep this vital service running smoothly. Thanks to the volunteersโ energy and teamwork, the foodbank was left in a better position to continue supporting people in need across Colchester.
It was a great example of how a short burst of physical activity can make a real difference locally. High spirits, plenty of teamwork, and the satisfaction of helping others made this a rewarding session for all involved.
Huge thanks to the 5 participants who showed up, worked hard, and proved once again that GoodGym is all about fitness with a purpose. Great work, team! ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ

Eight elves helped out at Level Best this evening, wrapping gifts for the trainees at their Christmas party. Everyone did a fantastic job, and although it looked like a tricky task to start with, as there were a variety of different shapes of gifts to wrap, and specific name tags to match each one, the paper and sellotape was soon flying into action, and beautifully wrapped piles of gifts started appearing. Conversation topics amongst the group this week included: Paris marathon, Cocodona 250, teaching, flamenco, compost, baby names, and Goodgym!

A crisp and chilly evening to get the message out about Level Best Art Cafe's Christmas events. We posted the news around Manor Road, Crowhurst Road and Rawston Road Level Best's staff and clients show that hard work throughout the year is something that they, and Colchester, can be proud of. I certainly can not wait to try their variety of chutneys for Christmas that will be on sale at their Christmas Market and have a mulled juice whilst listening to A Christmas Carol.
Well done those who braved the cold - the next Level Best task will be indoors wrapping presents.

A grey morning brightened up with dazzling hi-vis Junior Parkrun volunteer jackets! The kids huffed, puffed and laughed their way around the 2 laps.
The Goodgymers were stationed around the course making sure the kids were safe, happy and encouraged - whether they were after a PB, they were first-timers or just chatting to friends!
Huge thanks to the Parkrun Directors and regular volunteers for such a lovely FREE Sunday warm up!

The residents love to join in some Christmassy tunes and it fills them with good cheer!

4 GoodGymers set off on a dark evening in hunt of litter. After a slow start (Colchester residents no longer littering, or litter obscured by the darkness?) we quickly filled 2 bags.
Always good to have a chat over a litter pick (particularly nice to meet Mandy for the first time), and we left satisfied that the streets and paths were that little bit cleaner!
