Setting off in the dark on Christmas eve was not the easiest but we made it! Warmed ourselves up with a post run coffee :)

Three runners and a furry friend joined in the Park for a jog as the sun rose. Good to celebrate the changing seasons and shift towards longer days!
We even spotted a heron on route :)

Five , Sophie, Harry, Mary, Keith and Lea, turned up at the Salvation Army in Poole. Well, we had to find the entrance first…Wow, so many toys!!! And so many bags to be filled with those toys. With perfect preparation and organisation by the Salvation Army people the whole thing ran like clockwork. With 176 children on their list, a lot needed to be sorted and put in bags per family. What a delightful task, esp when imagining the smiles of the kids getting the toys.

Mary and Kim were helping out at the Cornerstone Patch in Hamworthy chopping up pallets into suitable pieces for firewood.
This fire wood will be used to keep everyone warm at the autumn event being held there next week.
It’s safe to say they won’t be using their sawing skills for any thing requiring a straight line anytime soon but this pile of wood should keep a lovely fire going!

Today GoodGym Poole joined forces with The Parks Foundation for a morning litter pick around Hamworthy boat yard and beach. We were met with a large boat full to the brim of litter, including many bottles of milk and pizza boxes! Between the four of us, in just under an hour we managed to fill 6 bin bags, ready to be collected by the council later. All our efforts were rewarded with a nice cup of tea and biscuits afterwards. Looking forward to supporting the Parks Foundation again soon!

Three goodgymers, Joanna, Emma and Sophie, met in baiter park for a rather wet and windy litter pick. We did not ‘waste’ any time and got stuck in, collecting all the litter we saw along our 2.5k route. Although there didn’t seem to be much litter, we managed to fill one large bin bag. Some notable finds include: a Pokémon card, a sock, a towel and a Christmas mug!
