Francis and Kim were there to marshal for Race for Life, Francis at Marshal point 1 and Kim at marshal point 2.
Their job was keep to the runners, walkers and joggers of the 10k, 5k and 3k route safe and heading on the right path whilst cheering them on.
After those events Francis was stationed at the ‘Mission Obstacle’ for the Pretty Muddy event that saw the runners dive under a net, crawling through sand to the end of the obstacle whilst Francis had the delight of throwing water onto the hot runners!
Thank you to Race for Life with Cancer Research Uk for hosting the event and well done Francis for attending his first Goodgym mission.

On a very hot, sunny day on the south coast of Poole Ruth, Emma, Sophie and Kim along with other volunteers on behalf of Surfers Against Sewage helped collecting 8.7kg in a mixture rubbish. They even had the start of a new outfit with the socks, bra and gloves they found!
This event was in partnership with Surfers Against Sewage in their Million Mile Beach Clean and they certainly clocked a few miles towards this goal.

It was a lovely sunny cycle to the beautiful Upton Country Park where I was a marshal, directing and cheering on 125 young people (and a few grown ups!) as they tackled the 2k Parkrun Junior route around the park.
The little runners were full of enthusiasm as they headed over the start line and went speeding down the first straight. It was a pleasure to clap and cheer as they passed through.

Mary and Kim enjoyed the beautiful sunshine at Poole Park on behalf of Julia’s House as marshals helping people locate the 88 giant Mermaid tails in the Great Tail Trail across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch.
They were there to help answer questions, collect donations, provide maps and even taking photos of those who had located their next Tail on their map.

Kim walked the 5k route with the friendly bunch of Park runners/walkers in the Role of Tail Walker. It was a slightly soggy start but it fortunately stopped raining just in time for the event to start and ensured a lovely stroll with an official time of 56 minutes and 10 seconds.
There are many different hi-viz hero roles for everyone to get involved at Parkrun but the Tail Walker is a friendly face that’s starts right at the back of the field and is the last person to cross the finish line, ensuring everyone is accounted for.

Laura and Kim were helping other volunteers mulch-titasking moving compost with a combination of wheel barrows and buckets to put around young trees to help suppress the weeds and prevent them drying out whilst they get established. Even a brief April shower didn't put them off!
Thank you to Trees for Wimborne for having us.
