Ms D explained that she's got a bit bored with her usual menu, so a few new items on this week's list such that she can try her hand at one or two Jamie Oliver recipes. A successful visit to previously unvisited sections of aisles in the hunt for chicken livers, bacon and the right potatoes for mashing, before reverting to the more familiar list of regular items to fill the basket.

It was truly a case of a having a ball - or more like several hundred of them - at GoodGym Westminster last night!
We met at our usual spot in Hyde Park to run to a new task - St Vincent's family project. This organisation provides a community for families, with children under the age of five, to feel supported. Families can use the space to play, relax, have fun, connect with others, and learn new skills. Families using the programmes and support services to become more resilient, less isolated and cope with financial and emotional pressures.
Our job changed last minute, so instead of painting in the bathroom, we were shown by Andy to the arguably much more exciting play area.
Our job for the evening was to give the climbing frame and ball pit a big clean down - including each and every one of the small colourful plastic balls. So we grabbed cloths, moved the army of soft toys out the way, and got cracking.
We found all sorts of interesting things as we worked, including castanets, a mini accordian and a giant gorilla. Before long it was time to get the mats back into their original position, throw the clean balls back in, and call it a job well done.
We'll be back again soon for more fun tasks at St Vincent's. Sign up here for next week's GG Westminster session - hope to see you there!

Even after however many shopping missions, especially around various outposts of the world's politest supermarket, Mrs M can still get me searching for items that I've never had to find before - this week's challenge was a particular brand of Gazpacho, which for once the aisles let me down. She'd also clarified what products I should try and hunt down marked with yellow labels, in this case mainly fruit (but not avocado), for which I had a little more success. Not for the first time every shop can prove to be a school day in so many ways...

A much more organised Ms D greeted me this week with a smile - she'd already drawn up her list and asked me to get "everything that's on it, unless of course you can't"...I assured her I'd try my very best around the aisles of the world's politest supermarket. The fishing department had finally managed to catch the elusive breaded Haddock, so I was able to tick everything off on the list, including the strawberries and cream, and Ms D was delighted.

Mrs M has certainly got the routine perfected - she greeted me warmly when I arrived this morning morning bright and early, handed me the Waitrose bag and beckoned me to the now familiar seat at the kitchen table to take dictation.
Not for the first time today's list took me in new directions and in search of items I've certainly never bought before - Himalayan salt featured highly, both in crisp form and as a seasoning - but it was her description of the Scotts Porage Oats that made me smile. Apart from a slightly leaking bag of wholemeal flour, everything was safely secured, and she was delighted when the box with the man in a kilt appeared from the bag.

Never a truer word spoken, but the packaging on the two outdoor storage/seating items that Ms S wanted built today had "Quick and Easy" flashed across it, so she was confident I'd be able to get them built today with no trouble at all.
The constructing part wasn't actually too difficult, requiring only the use of a screwdriver to lock everything together once a bit of force had been applied to push the various plastic lugs in place, and for once the instructions actually made sense and weren't in minuscule print.
The challenge was finding enough floor space in Ms S's patio to build the items - but once we'd overcome that challenge, the units took shape as expected, and provide Ms S with a significant amount of extra weatherproof outdoor storage space, and a place to sit too.
