A Big Welcome To Who Laura Who Joined Us This Morning ๐Ÿ˜€

This morning Wayne & Julie were joined by Laura who is our latest member.

Laura who is a keen runner and is passionate about volunteering and giving back to the community ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

This morning we were joined by DofE volunteers who helped us set up. First thing we had to do was get some chairs from the store room and place around the hall for the parents after the fun part began. As there are instructions to build its all about being creative. Todays track looked awesome so different from the previous weekends there were plenty of twists and turns.

In no time we had finished and the track looked great. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

This Wednesday we are back at Brookwood Carrying out gardening duties at a local pre-school hope to see you there ๐Ÿ˜€

Sunday 30th June

Written by Wayne

NEWS Congratulations To Maya who secured her place at next years London Marathon via the ballot, The training now begins

This morning Wayne, Anne, & Julie met at Brookwood with the All Aboard Club to set up the big train set for the kids to enjoy from 11:00am.

Before we met met up Anne continued with her training for the San Fransisco Marathon by doing an early morning 11k while Wayne continues with his training for the Surrey 1/2 by running 9k ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ.

They were joined by some young volunteers who were doing their Silver DoE who were also helping out. The first task was to get 25 chairs from the store room and place them around the side of the hall for the parents to sit down.

Once this was done the real fun began. We all took a corner of the hall and started building the train track. The great thing about this task is you can be creative as you want as long as the all the tracks join up its a success. Half way through the track was looking great ๐Ÿ˜Š.

The track was built in record time 40mins and it looked great.

This Week we are at the RSPCA if anyone is available please sign up...

Have a great Sunday and enjoy the footy C'mon England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

All Aboard At Brookwood ๐Ÿš‚

Sunday 19th May

Written by Nadia

On this fine Sunday, โ˜€ Lauren and Nadia arrived at the Brookwood Memorial Hall to set up the train set with All Aboard!; a charity that runs play sessions for children with autism and ADHD.

After some instructions from Richard the Train Controller, we got stuck in building the tracks, along with the other volunteers. We seemed to be on a roll today as the tracks were all joined up within 35 minutes! We then put some stations in as well as tunnels, and finally the best bit was putting the trains on. Some of them are battery powered and itโ€™s great seeing them move on the tracks. We had some nice coffee made by the Italian barista on site, Josie, and had a lovely chit chat before the children arrived. They jumped straight to the trains and got stuck in!

Great to be back again and looking forward to next time!

No Train No Gain ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ’จ

Sunday 28th April

All ABOARD

This morning Wayne, Kirsty, & Nadia headed to Brookwood to help the All Aboard Club build a giant train track for neurodiverse children to play and interact with ๐Ÿš‚.

We met Richard and a few young volunteers who were also helping out. The beauty of this task is there are no instructions its just build a track, and every time its always different ๐Ÿ˜„.

Nadia joined us for her 2nd task within a week which is fantastic. This was Kirsty & Wayne 2nd time to get involved with this amazing task.

There were plenty of bridges and signal crossings as well as the dreaded engineering works. ๐Ÿคฃ. Within the hour we had created an amazing track just in time for the arrival of the first kids. Seeing the smiles on their faces was amazing.

Keep a look out for some up and coming tasks and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

All Trains Lead To Funsville ๐Ÿš‚

Sunday 24th March

On this beautiful sunny morning We had an amazing task that required our help. ๐ŸŒž

All aboard club got in touch with Goodgym Woking to ask us if we could help set up a big train set for children to play within an ADHD/Autism safe play session.

Wayne, Kirsty, Anne met along the canal to run to Brookwood memorial halls. Along the way Kirsty was very vigilante and moved branches off the pavement that had blown down. In total between the 3 of us we ran 15k ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

When we arrived we met Richard & Lindsey. Richard explained to us that he set all aboard club many years ago and they go all over the South East bring enjoyment to kids who love trains. We got stuck in straight away by taking out all the boxes of tracks and trains from the back of the car and taking them inside. The great part of this was we could build any tack as long as it all connected. We all started in each corner of the hall and started to build. We were very lucky we had a young volunteer Freddie who was with his mum. Freddie was amazing and very creative and guided us how to build the track. After an hour the whole floor area was covered with this amazing track with trains & houses it looked amazing. As we just finished up kids started to come in to enjoy their play session the smiles on their faces as they saw the track was wonderful to see. ๐Ÿš‚

We said our goodbyes I headed off back to work while Kirsty & Anne ran back along the canal.

All aboard club have asked us if we could help again so look out for future tasks that will be put on the dashboard if people to sign up to.

This coming Wednesday we are meeting at the RSPCA to do some painting in the reception area hope to see many of you there. ๐Ÿ˜Š
