For this week’s task, we were out braving the cold and rain, delivering flyers for Breast Cancer Haven in aid of their upcoming event on the 6th March.
Chris, Rachel and Andy told us a little about how they got on at the Community Mission on Sunday. They were helping AgeUK with their collection buckets in Tesco, managing to raise over £200! Tonight was also Chris’ 50th run, so huge congratulations to him!
We split off into two groups of three so we could deliver to both sides of the road at once running in between each house to keep warm. We managed to deliver all 400 of our flyers in no time!
It was then time to head back to base. To up the kilometres, we took a slightly longer route back, which included a few little hills to give us a bit more of a workout. Back at base, we had a quick stretch off and headed on our way home to warm up!
Next week we will be back doing good again, it would be great to see you there.

Great to see everyone tonight! A big shout out to Fiona who has become a coach runner this week and also to Raul who did two half marathons at the weekend, a run Monday night, Birmingham GoodGym on Tuesday and then Solihull with us - I don’t know how he’s still going!
For tonight’s task we were delivering flyers for Breast Cancer Haven, who are advertising their upcoming fundraising events and AgeUK Solihull, informing people about all the work they do for the elderly in the local area.
Once we had run to our designated roads we split off into three groups of two and managed to deliver all 300 leaflets in no time!
Tonight’s fitness session was a HIIT work out consisting of thirty second sprints followed by thirty second rests, for a total of four minutes. A HIIT workout helps to improve both endurance and anaerobic performance, meaning you burn more calories over a longer period of time after the exercise.
After this it was time to run back to base for a quick stretch and then to head on our way home.
Great work tonight and see you all next week.

Tonight we were pounding the street once again, delivering flyers for Breast Cancer Haven Charity. They are based in Solihull and advertising their upcoming Fire walk challenge on the 9th November to help raise much needed funds.
We set off delivering the flyers right on the charity’s doorstep. As the houses on our route were pretty big with extremely long driveways, it meant we could include short sharp runs from one door to the next - a great HIIT work out!
Once we had done as many houses as possible in the given time, it was time to run back. As Fiona is still not able to run, she walked back to base. While waiting, we squeezed in a fitness session.
Tonight’s fitness involved one minute of sprinting followed by one minute of rest, to continue our interval training. John and Chris led the way with Rachel never that far behind, always keeping them in her sight. Great work everyone!
Once Fiona had met back up with us, it was time to stretch off and head on our way home.
Next week we will be litter picking along the canal for the Canal & River trust. Hope to see you there - and don’t forget your head torches!

Tonight’s task took us along the roads delivering flyers for Breast Cancer Haven Charity, based in Solihull.
They have an upcoming fire walking challenge on 9th November to help raise money for the charity. It's the ultimate test of courage - challenge yourself to walk barefoot across burning wood embers! If you’re interested in finding out more details, take a look on their website, https://www.breastcancerhaven.org.uk/Event/firewalk-solihull.
We set off delivering the flyers on our designated roads - all 300! Unfortunately the rain came down pretty heavily halfway through, which made Jess start running in between houses to keep herself as dry as possible. We made good time doing that and enjoyed chatting along the way - tempting each other on to take the challenge!
As we had walked most of the route we decided we to run back a slightly longer way to still get some kilometres in!
Next week we will be dropping more flyers but on different roads - hope to see you there!
