THE TREE' mendous Two
ran 5k to Northend to prune apple trees for Orchardshare.
TWAS a WET N WINDY MORNING on the hillside but that didn't deter an already soaked pair of lovely Goodgym ladies from tackling the hill up to Northend orchard.
SHEILA,TIM and KEITH were pleased to see us even though we were lacking in numbers for support for our January challenge.
Mary set to laying a DEAD WOOD HEDGE with Sheila whilst Steph took saw in hand to learn how to prune an apple tree successfully without removing more than 25% of the growth.
1 HOUR LATER
TIME FOR A CUPPA to warm up out hands and chat about toad patrol at Charlcombe lane for a future task, now that's exciting stuff.
High Ho ! and off we go back down the steep hill. We promise to return on March 3rd to continue pruning away and hopefully with a few more helpful hands
THANKS MARY FIR BACK MARKING AND TODAYS PUN ...HA!!!

THE GOODGYM BBC DREAM TEAM DO IT AGAIN AND WHAT A CRACKER!!
Nothing rains on our parade in the west country, least of all the wet stuff that falls from the sky, just a few no shows today but we still managed a healthy 10 for a 9k round trip to DRYARCH orchard to set up ready for WASSAIL SUNDAY.
WELCOME TO GOODGYM BRISTOL AND CARDIFF
It was absolutely fabulous to have some old and new faces join us in Bath for a bit of tourist Goodgym group running with just THE TWO BATH BUNS in the mixture .
It's fair to say the flat run out was a soggy one and on arrival we split into two teams with 6 doing a spot of weight lifting bu erecting the shelter and the remainder bringing the soup and apple juice etc up to the bread oven area which is used to entertain the visitors on such occasions.
TIME FOR LUNCH
Ooh!! go on then!! the social edge to this extra group run was the promise to dry off and warm up with a spot of lunch and a refreshing drink before heading back to DRYARCH for the WASSAIL ceremony.
HAT TRICK THIS WEEKEND FOR GOODGYM BBC MICKEY 50 good deeds - black t STEPH 200 good deeds -bespoke t PAUL 300 good deeds -nothing !!
huge thanks to ALISON for designing the LADY BATH T-SHIRT and Paul for printing it off and providing some HAPPY SHOPPER !! Pink wafers ( have a word DAVE)
THE WASSAIL
Brilliant fun even though it poured down, we toasted the pear, apple and plum trees with some warming mulled cider and pretty toast to hang on the branches with ribbons whilst singing about SAP ARISING, youll need to watch the videos but Mr GREEN did a fabulous job entertaining the crowds old and young.
TOASTING WITH PASSING THE CUP and hanging TOAST on the Branches with Walcot singers doing what they do best, following Mr Green around the orchard.
The run back was WET but we made it back in good Apple spirits.
THANKS Goodgym Cardiff for the tipple fueled pun
THANKS GUYS !!! AMAZING BUNCH

WELCOME TO THE BBC !! 12 lovely peeps
Croatia
In fact the best in the west from BATH, BRISTOL and CARDIFF for an 8.5 k run out and back on a scenic flat route along the Kennett and Avon canal to DRYARCH GROWERS and ORCHARD SHARE to create a safe pathway for next weeks WASSAIL ... Don't miss that group run, it is sure to be fun.
A slightly delayed start with Goodgym Cardiff heading towards St Johns church on arrival thinking it was BATH ABBEY but the less said about who was leading them in that direction the better.
A brief warm up to kick off with a headcount naming their favorite band - S club 7 and Steps ... now that is worrying but Matt saved the day with the WURZELS
THE TASK
Sheila was ready and to get us started in 3 groups and we made up time with a bit of looping back to remain contained as a group, just 7 minutes short of time.
THE SHOVELERS ( not a band ) laying a bark chip pathway at the start of the Wassail route.
THE CLIPPERS ( not a band either) cutting back trees and brambles to prevent a poke me in the eye height situation.
THE HOLE FILLERS ( now they could be a band to follow) filling in trip holes and removing slippery rotten apples from the wassail route.
We worked for an hour to create a safe pathway for next weeks Wassail ceremony and enjoyed a nice cuppa before heading back to the leisure centre for a well earned stretched out followed by a nice Sunday roast social.
JERUSALEM -DONE !! no choke
Ben is responsible for todays pun of the month.
Matt was on a mission to cycle off for a mission with Mary but hopefully no cake was consumed on site.
The best part of the day was Lucy pulling the compost toilet door and bring shown how to push.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR MAKING SUNDAY GREAT.
