Delivering the high notes 🎶

Monday 3rd November

Written by Tabitha Skinner

On Monday evening, we met up and extended a huge, warm welcome to Abolfazal for his very first GoodGym session—and he dove straight into the action! We powered through a 2km run to collect a huge stack of concert leaflets for the fantastic Queens Park Singers. Splitting the load efficiently between the four of us, we hit the streets and managed to get the leaflets delivered to the community in a phenomenal 30 minutes, avoiding any rain! We then regrouped and ran happily back to Willesden for a well-deserved, refreshing drink.

Excellent work team! Next week, our mission continues as we pivot to support our local area by delivering leaflets for the Queens Park Community Council. Come join us and make a difference!

Pitch Perfect!

Monday 4th November 2024

6 of us braved the autumn weather and the dark to distribute flyers for the great local community choir 'Queens Park Singers' based at St Anne's Church on Salusbury road, a lovely local open choir for all. We welcomed Aurora to her first Goodgym Brent group run, welcome Aurora, good to see you! Pete, Aurora, Valentina, Samina and Kate from the choir met at Beer n Burger, dropped some stuff there, picked up the flyers and some maps, warmed up then jogged the 1/2k to the top of Chamberlayne Road, Pete leading and Samina backmarking. We split into teams. Samina, Aurora and Valentina headed off down Donnington road to do the west circuit while Pete met up with Lee and Beatriz and headed off down All Soul's avenue. Lots of choir leaflets were distributed and some Goodgym Brent flyers too with about 500 choir leaflets posted. It was dark and fairly cold however we were in good spirits and the time flew by. Having run out of leaflets we separately arranged as two groups to jog / walk back. We met at Beer n Burger for a lovely social and a drink. Thank you everyone!
