The Exhibitions, introduced in 2004 by the Rotary Club of Abbeydale, have developed into the largest annual young artists event in the UK, featuring works from over 50 schools.
The Exhibition is usually held over 2 days at the beginning of May, opened on the Friday by the Lord Mayor.
The 2020 event has has to be suspended and will now be held October 16th/17th.
Screens need to be transferred from Sheffield Botanical Gardens to Ponds Forge on Wednesday 14th October at 2.30pm and returned on Monday 19th October at 9,30am.
The task is to load and offload the van. (6/8 people required)
2 people are needed to carry each screen to the van (distance approx. 15 metres)
4 GoodGymers have supported Sheffield Young Artists with 10 tasks.

3 Goodgym strong women ran to United Reformed Church to unload screenboards from Van then into the hall. Fortunately there were other Strong Men Volunteers too to help out with the heavy double sided Screenboards. They have been assembled together to display the artworks of young Artists. Ken Marshall, the organizer really appreciate what Goodgym runners do for them. He gave us leaflets too and present us some artworks done by 13 and 14 year old young artists. Hopefully there will be a few more Goodgym runners on Monday, next week when we take the screenboards back into the van.

Grannie Annie Mays with grandson Luca and energetic Rachel had fun today. We moved and handle screens after the art show. My grandson was just observing our movements up and down and having fun. Hopefully one day he will join Goodgym. We worked together with a nice team of old and young men and got on very well. A great team of enthusiastic willing and helpful men

This afternoon we were called upon to help Sheffield Abbeydale Rotary club with transferring wooden display screens across town for the Sheffield Young Artists Exhibition.
Every year, pictures from schoolchildren and young people across the city are exhibited, with awards being presented to the best art by the Lord Mayor.
Cue Goodgym! We had to help load 40 heavy wooden screens onto a delivery van from their store, then run 1.6 miles across town to then offload them into the church hall. Luckily, we weren't alone! Many hands make light work, they say, but it still felt quite heavy work, I tell you!
With strength and cardio workout completed, we headed off for a well deserved drink at City of Sanctuary nearby.
