Big thanks to Jen tonight for doing the organisation and liaising with the community team at Morrisons as well. As a reward, she got to do her most favourite thing ... chopping large branches off trees.
Lucy came with her amazing garden tool bag and Jo had a couple of things in her backpack too so between us we had the tools we needed.
Weeds were pulled out of cracks (insert one of the many jokes here 😉), the planters were also weeded. Fennel's sister plant seemed to be growing everywhere! Hedges were trimmed and the outside area looked much clearer at the end than the start!
We also planted some geraniums and marigolds that were donayed by Morrisons.
A big pile (more jokes!) of greenery was left in the polytunnel for composting.
Great team work as always and amazing to see how much can be done in not much time!

We welcomed Julie on her first GoodGym Portsmout mission today, despite only being in town for a week!
Jo took on the overhanging bushes in the car park whilst the rest of us tackled the weeding in the garden area. After some deliberation we decided the old rotted wood of the flower beds was unsalvageable and after weeding buried some of the rotten wood out of sight.
Tracey stayed on to plant some of the plants she'd acquired for Tonic in planters to brighten up the place.

This evening we joined Steph at Tonic to help freshen up and organise their new venue before their opening weekend next week.
We split in to two teams - the brave and hardy outdoor team tackled the garden whilst the more delicate among us helped out indoors.
The outdoor crew were planning to sweep and weed the whole car park but stayed at the top end. They filled 10 bags with leaves and garden waste and half a bag of rubbish which included a baby's rattle.
The indoor team split up to transfer box after box of vinyl from storage to display and to hoover the deceptively large square footage of the building. They did find time to check out some props and pose with some interesting record choices.
We'll be back at Tonic to help with some gardening next Friday - see the link here: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/a-spot-of-gardening-just-the-tonic
